Kancamagus Highway

Kancamagus Highway

The White Mountains are one of the most beautiful and scenic regions in the entire northeastern U.S. Motoring down the Kancamagus Highway puts you right in the middle of it all.

The Kancamagus Highway is known by many names, including the Kancamagus Scenic Byway, New Hampshire SR 112 (its official designation), or simply The Kanc as the locals say. Yet, no matter which name you prefer, you’re in for a gorgeous ride.

Connecting the towns of Lincoln in the west and Conway in the east, The Kanc meanders across the mountains over around 35 miles. Although it’s not a supremely long road, you should take your time riding it to get the most out of each mile.

The Kanc has a knack for making you feel just a bit like a pioneer. As you plunge into the woods of the White Mountains, you’ll say goodbye to modern luxuries.

The only conveniences you’ll have are the pavement and your motorcycle. There are no gas stations, restaurants, hotels, no nothing.

Well, not nothing. Along The Kanc, you’ll find plenty of hiking trails, waterfalls, stunning overlooks, and other natural wonders. If you’re riding here in the fall, the roadsides are on fire with some of the most blazing leaves the Northeast has to offer.
