Texas Vintage Motorcycle Museum—Johnson City
About an hour north of San Antonio, TX, and 30 miles east of Fredericksburg, is the town of Johnson City. It’s a typical small town in Texas Hill Country, with a couple of exceptions: it’s known as the home of President Lyndon B. Johnson, and it’s also the home of the Texas Vintage Motorcycle Museum.
Established in late 2021, the museum houses a collection of motorcycles curated by Gordon Massie. Gordon used to live near Houston, where he had 63 vintage motorcycles in two three-car garages.
“They were all jammed in there, too close to look at, too close to ride or service. So, I was sort of looking around for more space,” he explained.
