Despite its name, Christmas Cove, ME, has nothing to do with the holiday season. It’s named so simply because English explorer John Smith first happened to visit the island on Christmas Day, 1614.

Instead, Christmas Cove is a wonderful summertime destination that shows off coastal Maine at its best.
