Giro Alpino: A Family Reunion in the Rockies

Giro Alpino was Ducati’s new tour event, centered around Breckenridge, CO. Participants were told to expect incredible roads, spectacular fall colors, and exquisite dining. I did because I live here in Colorado. What I didn’t expect was the warm welcome we received into the Ducati Multistrada family.
I could tell you all about the features and performance of the Multistrada V4 S—how it handled the mountains effortlessly, two-up. But that’s not the point of Giro. My wife Lesa, who joined on this adventure, did want me to mention the fabulous, heated seat for pillion passengers.

A Warm Welcome
We arrived on a beautiful Friday afternoon. The contrast between the cobalt-blue skies and the electric gold of aspen and cottonwood just makes you feel good. We pulled into our Breckenridge hotel where a massive red Ducati semi was parked in a staging lot. Four-foot-tall letters spelling DUCATI marked the significance of the event. One of the 10 new Multistradas lined up by the hotel was mine.
