City Escape: San Diego, California

Known as the birthplace of California, San Diego offers a diverse array of entertainment. The city and its various interesting and colorful enclaves are easily navigated by motorcycle. Its location in the southern part of the state grants San Diego great riding weather almost year-round.

A major port, there are several maritime museums set aboard ships, from the decommissioned USS Midway to authentic tall ships. Open air markets, cafes, and bars keep the avenues bustling. San Diego has an electric, eclectic character, with original architecture alongside modern glass and steel. Pleasantly enough, there are country roads to be found to the east when you need a break from the cityscape and want to stretch your mount’s legs.
