SW-Motech’s All-new Handguards Now Available in US
As every ADV rider knows, having an airborne rock hit your knuckles hurts. To protect your mitts from stones, branches, and everything else, German motorcycle gear manufacturer SW-Motech has now brought its all-new handguard designs stateside.
The new handguards feature a never-before-seen design and construction, designed completely from scratch. They feature a strong aluminum frame, with a durable polycarbonate shell covering it. The shell is slightly flexible, allowing it to bend a bit with impacts, which reduces the likelihood of shattering.
Whatever bike you ride, you can likely install the handguards. They support more than 100 motorcycle models, and SW-Motech is constantly working to introduce new fitments. This isn’t due to a universal attachment system, either—the company has created bike-specific mounting kits for each supported model.
Installing the handguards requires no special tool and, thanks to the specific mounting kits, can be done quickly and easily. Kits with two-point attachments feature a hinged clamp for the interior mount to make the job even easier.
In terms of looks, the SW-Motech handguards come in two variants—Sport and Adventure. Both are made from the same materials, but the Sport guards are slimmer and sleeker, while the ADV guards are wider with a more angular design.
SW-Motech offers a range of accessories for both the Sport and Adventure handguards. The catalog includes extensions for both systems, and the ADV handguard can also take an optional, replaceable crash pad for additional impact and scratch protection.
The SW-Motech Sport and Adventure Handguard Kit prices start at $145 (MSRP depends on the bike model).
