Review: Klim Artemis Jacket and Pants
The Klim Artemis jacket and pants piqued my interest in the ever-evolving landscape of women's motorcycle gear. Designed by women for women, this motorcycle suit promises exceptional protection and day-long comfort across diverse terrains and weather conditions.
The importance of reliable gear cannot be overstated and in my experience, the suit has delivered on its promises. The Artemis jacket and pants have become my go-to riding suit choice.
The Artemis Jacket takes center stage with abrasion resistance, functional storage, good mobility, and great ventilation. Crafted with Superfabric and robust Cordura fabrics, it’s a durabile piece of gear.
It features a Gore-Tex Performance Shell that does a good job with providing a dry riding experience. The CE AA rating and D3O CE Level 1 armor offer excellent protection, while thoughtful features like double-headed vents and water-resistant pockets add to the jacket’s appeal.
The jacket’s counterpart, the Artemis pants, seamlessly complement it with a similar Gore-Tex Performance Shell, Cordura overlays, and D3O CE Level 1 armor. For ventilation, the pants sport thigh vents, while MOLLE-compatible panels provide versatile storage options.
The Artemis suit’s stylish design and appealing colors add a feminine touch without excessive embellishments. Ergonomically, the suit and armor provide excellent articulation, providing unbridled freedom of movement both on and off the bike.
Klim has further enhanced the comfort factor with well-placed ventilation, articulated elbows, and strategic adjustments, making the suit a pleasure to wear during long rides. Vent panels on the chest and unique cross-core vents offer good overall airflow.
The suit's fabric performance is impressive, with minimal flapping and no bunching or riding up, which facilitates easy movement with the built-in stretch.
I also enjoyed the storage space the Artemis suit offers with its pockets, MOLLE panels, and compartments. Sealed with precision, the suit features effective closures, rain gutters, and Velcro strips, although zipper closures on pockets could enhance durability.
The Artemis’ winning edges include the waterproofing, high-performance fabric materials, and goat leather for suit longevity, showcasing a thoughtful approach to quality and functionality. While the premium price may give pause—cry once, as they say—the suit's features validate the investment.
The Klim Artemis jacket and pants combine meticulous design, premium materials, and female-specific features. As the best three-season suit I've worn in the last nine years, it sets a new standard for technical gear in the women's riding arena.
