Alpinestars Latest ADV Riding Gear
The recent 2023 Alpinestars Adventure Tour in Big Bear, CA, dramatically underscored the Italian sports gear company’s deepening commitment to the ADV and dual sport motorcycle space. Case in point, the company’s owner and CEO Gabriele Mazzarolo was there, as well as Dakar champions Ricky Brabec, Toby Price. and Skyler Howes.
On display were three levels of ADV gear that are already (or will soon be) on the shelves.
At the top of the line is AMT-10R Drystar XF jacket and matching pants. The suit is made out of Matyrx, Kevlar, Rideknit and modular laminated Drystar XF.
The combination of various materials results in excellent airflow and ventilation while still remaining waterproof and weatherproof. Priced at $899.95 for the jacket and $499.95 for the pants, the suit can also be fitted with the company’s Tech-Air 5 airbag vest.
Monteira Drystar XF offers more moderately priced all-weather protection and good ventilation. It is also more water-resistant than waterproof.
Made principally with the company’s two-layer laminated Drystar XF material, the jacket is priced at $529.95, with matching trousers at $355.95. It can also be worn with the Tech-Air 5 airbag vest.
Bogota Pro Drystar is intended for hard riding and hot weather. This outfit has a Drystar waterproof liner, but it offers more ventilation than the AMT or Monteira due to the multiple ventilation panels on the detachable, ergonomically designed sleeves.. The jacket is priced at $419.95, and can be worn with Alpinestars Tech-Air 5 or Tech-Air 3 vests, and is matched with pants priced at $299.95
Also on display was Alpinestars’ new Tech Air Off-Road protection system—a consumer version of the Dakar airbag developed and used since 2017. Likely to be in the market by 2024, the airbag system will be priced at roughly $999.
