Royal Enfield Introduces 2025 Classic 650 | RoadRUNNER Motorcycle Touring & Travel

Royal Enfield is well-known for producing motorcycles that are simple in just the right way, connecting to the company’s rich heritage. The Classic 350 lives up to its name, but some riders may with it offered a bit more oomph.

At the EICMA 2024 show, Royal Enfield delivered with the announcement of the 2025 Classic 650. This motorcycle maintains the brand’s post-war British styling while providing modern performance.

At the heart of the bike is the Royal Enfield 650 engine, familiar from the Super Meteor 650 and Shotgun 650. However, it has been retuned for the Classic, providing stronger low-end acceleration and a comfortable cruising experience.

In more technical terms, we’re looking at a 648cc in-line twin. The powerplant puts out 46 horsepower at 7,520 rpm, while the maximum torque of 38.5 lb-ft arrives at 5,650 rpm.

The motorcycle is built around the same mainframe as its 650 siblings. The differences stem from the handlebar and the seat (with a height of 31.5 inches), which have been positioned for long-distance riding comfort with a slight forward lean.

Royal Enfield also offers dual seats, with an option for a pillion seat or luggage rack. These additional components are attached with a simple bolt-on mechanism.

The suspension components consist of a 43mm telescopic fork with 4.7 inches of travel and a twin shock with 3.5 travel inches. For brakes, we have a 320mm disc in the front and a 300mm disc in the rear, both with twin-piston calipers.

Style-wise, the bike sticks to Royal Enfield’s traditions, with its distinctive fuel tank shape and headlight nacelle (which does house a modern LED light). Instrumentation is appropriately basic, with an analog speedo and a small LCD screen for the odo, trip meter, fuel level, and other indicators. In a small break from tradition, you do also get a USB-C port.

Color options include Vallam Red, Bruntingthorpe Blue, Teal, and Black Chrome. American retail prices for the Classic 650 haven’t been announced yet, as the bike is currently available in Europe. A North American release is slated for early 2025.
