2027 Kawasaki Ninja 650 Brings Notable Updates
The Kawasaki Ninja is one of the most popular and instantly recognizable motorcycle lines out there. For 2027, Kawi has introduced significant updates to the family’s middle child, the Ninja 650.
Suspension components have received an overhaul. Kawasaki has swapped the previous 41mm telescopic fork for an inverted 37mm Separate Function Fork-Big Piston unit designed to increase front-end rigidity for better handling. Suspension travel remains at 4.9 inches. Although the rear shock remains the same, it has received a settings update and ABS calibration.

The Ninja 650 got a brake job and now comes with new round 300mm dual discs in the front instead of the previous petal design. Radially mounted four-piston calipers replace the 2026 model’s dual-piston ones. The rear brake remains unchanged with a 220mm disc and a single-piston caliper.
To go with the new chassis components, Kawasaki has lowered the seat height from 31.1 inches to 30.9 inches. While not a massive change, it should make it easier to get your feet on the ground at stops.

In electronics, Kawasaki has updated the layout of the 4.3-inch color TFT screen. Riders can now swap between two layout styles, with the first displaying a bar-style tachometer with vehicle information below it and the other using a hexagonal tach. You can also swap between a white and black background.
The Ninja 650 also comes with updated Kawasaki Rideology app connectivity for smartphone functionality. New features include navigation with route display, destination search, and waypoint support. The app can also push vehicle information into your phone.

Finally, the Ninja 650 now has a quickshifter available as an accessory. The Kawasaki quickshifter enables clutchless upshifts above 2,500 rpm.
Otherwise, the motorcycle remains unchanged. The engine is Kawasaki’s liquid-cooled 649cc DOHC parallel-twin with an output of 67 ponies at 8,000 rpm and 48.5 lb-ft of torque at 6,500 rpm. With the lightweight trellis frame and a four-gallon fuel tank, the 650 clocks in at 427.8 pounds with all the fluids.

The 2027 Kawasaki Ninja is available now in Lime Green, Galaxy Silver, Metallic Matte Twilight Blue/Candy Persimmon Red, and Metallic Flat Spark Black/Metallic Carbon Gray for $8,099.
