Big, wide, and fat—the 2025 BMW R 1300 GS Adventure shows its extreme robustness and versatility straight away. The bike’s design reflects its sheer indestructibility, turning it almost into additional armor for the rider.

When the GSA first appeared in 1999, it already made a statement with its dominant, nearly eight-gallon fuel tank. In the meantime, the looks of the world-traveling tool have become more complex.

Looking at the red GSA before setting off on the first test ride in Málaga, Spain, I spontaneously realized why such a large bike has such great appeal. It’s precisely because of its enormous dimensions and mass.

Most little boys dream of riding huge excavators, trucks, or tractors at some point in their lives, right? And why do so many youngsters want to become firemen? Maybe it’s the color?
