MSF AdventureBike RiderCourse: Unlocking the Off-Roading World

For the past decade, adventure bikes have been one of the fastest-growing segments of the motorcycle industry. Although the appeal of these machines lies in their SUV-like capacity for handling a variety of terrain, most adventure bikes (like their four-wheeled cousins) will spend their lives on the asphalt.

However, the OEMs know what adventure bike owners aspire to. Their motorcycle advertisements are replete with images of riders jumping sand dunes, fording rivers, and exploring exotic locales. Now, there is a clear path to making those aspirations a reality. The MSF AdventureBike RiderCourse seeks to impart to riders the skills and confidence to use adventure motorcycles to their full potential off-road.

The Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) is a well-known non-profit, industry-supported organization that for more than half a century has designed and implemented safety and training standards for the two-wheeled world. Many motorcyclists have first climbed into the saddle by taking an MSF Basic RiderCourse in the parking lot of the local community college on a weekend. Over the years, MSF’s course offerings have expanded to include advanced street riding skills, dirt bikes, and even three-wheeled motorcycles.
