Can-Am Refreshes Spyder RT for 2020
Can-Am has introduced an updated version of its Spyder RT, what it describes as the ultimate luxury-touring road-trip vehicle, which now offers enhanced comfort and additional convenience items.
In addition to its new contemporary appearance with LED headlights for enhanced visibility, the Spyder RT features a redesigned cockpit with a new 7.8-inch color LCD instrument panel and simpler controls. Also new is the adjustable electric windshield (with a new memory function) designed to provide improved protection from the elements. Extended floorboards allow a variety of leg positions for riders of any size. Both seats include heating elements to keep you cozy, while the pilot’s section features increased lumbar support.
Touring riders who want to bring everything with them on a trip will be delighted by 47 total gallons (177 liters) of stowage room, including the top case that can fit two XL helmets. Can-Am’s LinQ, technology allows riders to quickly add or remove the rear top case and install a cooler, sport bag, or other accessories. The RT’s load capacity is a generous 494 pounds.
As previous, the RT is powered by Can-Am’s 1330cc three-cylinder engine with 115 horsepower going through a semi-automatic six-speed transmission. A reverse gear is part of the package, which will be welcome during parking maneuvers with the 987-pound (claimed dry weight) reverse trike. Can-Am also notes suspension tweaks to improve handling and stability. As usual, ABS and traction control are standard equipment. Prices start at $ 23,299.
